a reflection

When I was in middle school and high school, we didn't have off on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  We didn't have classes, either. Instead, we came to school and had a series of seminars and workshops focused on equality and change.  The idea was to spend the day not off playing Nintendo (or in my case, maybe at the mall with friends), but reflecting on the extreme weight and enormity of what this day actually means.

I actually have work today, and it reminded me of my days in middle school in high school.  Perhaps, in a way, I can use my day as an opportunity to think more deeply about what this day means to me,  and about how I treat others.

I hope you have a wonderful day today, friends!
