Sometimes all you need is a change in perspective. In the summer, New Yorkers flee the city and head to the Hamptons or wherever. Nine months out of the year is perhaps all we can handle.

I myself have been inspired to get outta dodge lately. After 7 years of living here, the city has started to feel a little stale to me (call me crazy, you'd be right). I love this place so much, I can't imagine living and loving anywhere else, but sometimes all I want is room to breathe. I'm excited to do some traveling this summer, including some much needed time at my family's beach house in CT (of course, living in Astoria is a city vacation in and of itself).

How do you refresh your perspective? For you, is the summer a time to get away from it all, like us New Yorkers? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
