real deal // huge steal: chloe

It's been a while since I've done one of these posts - but I'm always keeping a look out for super sneaky near knockoffs. Do you follow the street style of fashion week (New York, London, Milan and now Paris)? Well, this past fall, everyone was wearing Chloe's drew satchel:

It's gorgeous, right? It's impossibly fresh with a bit of a 70's vibe. Love it. I don't however, love the almost $1800 price tag that comes along with it.

Chloe Mini Drew Saddle Bag, $1750

Friends! Look what I found!

ASOS mini saddle, $30

Basically the same, yes? The same gold hardware, pretty clasp, and I love the color blocking this one has, just like some of the Chloe versions.

My rule of thumb for big time purchases is that they must be something you absolutely love, as well have high wearability. The Chloe bag is great, but for the average New Yorker like you and me, it's not super practical. I usually carry around two bags when commuting, and I know this bag wouldn't fit much - which is why I like the ASOS version better, for an inexpensive but stylish night out.

Hope to see you all tonight!!

real deal // huge steal = Isabel Marant booties

Hi friends! Thought I'd bring back one of the more popular posts around these parts, and one of my personal favorites - splurge / save, or, as I like to call it, real deal / huge steal! This weekend, my good friend and future SIL Batya got in touch and mentioned she was going shoe shopping. As you can imagine, I immediately volunteered to aid in her search. Aside from sneakers (I recommend Nike Air Max) and a great pair of rain boots, she was in the market for a great pair of work appropriate, low heeled shoes. We sent links back and forth, and she asked me what my favorite footwear brand is. Funnily enough, I don't have one, but I did send her in the direction of my favorite online retailers Shopbop and Net A Porter. On the subject of Net A Porter, I sent her a link of my favorite Isabel Marant booties. She didn't enjoy the price point (frankly, neither do I), but she did enjoy the look of the boots, as well as the small heel.

I did a little poking around the internet this weekend, and look what I found!

Five hundred dollars less for almost identical boots! The SM boots even have similar stitching, which is so pretty. And to be honest with you, the Steve Madden version looks a little sturdier to me. I don't know about you all, but I walk hard, and living in the city, heels are almost the first thing to go on my shoes.

These boots are versatile (especially in black), but I think I prefer them best paired with skinny jeans and an oversized sweater or coat, like Emma Stone did, here:

Ugh, talk about #flawless. What do you think of this week's pick?

real deal // huge steal = fall sunnies

Happy Monday, gorgeous humans! I was right. Just as suspected, taking the weekend to step back from work a little bit completely recharged my inspiration battery. Did you guys have a good one? Raven and I took Charlie hiking here yesterday, and loved watching him lose his shit over all the smells in the woods. We headed here afterwards to pick apples (read: eat apple cider donuts) but I think they squeezed over 1000 people into an acre of land. It was a mob, so we bought some apple cider and hit the road. All in all, a great weekend.

Lately I've been thinking about sunglasses. Such a weird thing to think about this time of year, right? Well at least to me it is, which is so silly - it's still beautifully bright out. But the other day I found a pair of sunglasses that I was itching to bring home with me...and then I got sad because I could buy so many OTHER things at their price point. Imagine my delight when I cam across today's save or splurge:

Karen Walker // ASOS

I love these so much! Something about tortoise shell that goes so perfectly with all of the mossy greens, ox bloods, navy blues and deep beiges we see this time of year. Of course, I'd pair them with plaid...but you know that already. Yes, accessories are on the brain, which reminds me. I haven't yet announced this week's giveaway!

If you've been reading LRW a while, you know my obsession with etsy shop SeaAndCake. Well, Stephanie, the lovely owner/designer, and I put our heads together and came up with the best giveaway ever.

real deal // huge steal = wedding lbd

Oh HEY there! How was your weekend? I had the most magical time assisting my friend Ashley Caroline on Alex and Evan's wedding in the Hamptons! I cannot tell you how many times I abandoned professionalism in favor of squeals of delight during the day on Saturday. I had such a blast, and the cherry on top of the weekend was a closet makeover session with a client followed by snuggles with Raven and Charlie. I am tired today, no lie, but I've got wedding on the BRAIN, and thought I'd translate that into a post for you all today! What does one wear to a fall wedding? I recommend your trusty LBD. Of course I've got my eyes on a pricey Carven number that I cannot afford. Luckily I was able to source some incredible comps for you lovely folks.

$780 // $61

I'm going to make a bold statement and say that off the shoulder is the new cut out. It's the most subtly sexy way to show some skin. I love the Carven number because it's got long sleeves for chilly climes, but throw a sweet boucle or moto jacket over that ASOS dress and I think you'll give the bride some sensible best dressed competition. Here are some other LBD mini dress options: one, two, three, four.

Happy Monday, lovelies!

real deal // huge steal = black boots

Friends! I'm back on the East Coast and I am loving. this. foliage. I'm headed out with my friend crush Victoria after this post is published (and I get my tooth fixed at the dentist...), and today is sure to be an adventure. Tonight I'll finally be reunited with my loves Raven and Charlie! I did the impossible, today, friends. I found an affordable alternative to the most coveted booties of all time:

Rag & Bone Harrow Booties // Dolce Vita Haelyn Booties

The above boots by Rag & Bone are my favorite boots in the entire world. Here's a shoot I did with them. Love them though I do, they are SO expensive, and keep appreciating in cost as their popularity grows. I bought them for almost $100 less 6 months ago. Luckily, Dolce Vita just released a dead ringer for more than half the price. What thinks you?

Friends, Happy Monday. Wednesday is LRW's birthday and there is A LOT going on that day (read: prizes). So please keep comin' back this week (and every week, cuz I luh ya).
