special announcement!

Friends, I'm pumped that you stopped by because I have some very exciting news to share today!

As some of you know, my background is in event planning, as I worked for years in the restaurant industry. My experience working as an event planner was the foundation for my journey as a small business owner, and taught me everything I needed to know about forging relationships with clients as well as building a network of like-minded vendors. 

I cannot tell you how integral what I learned as a planner has been to my success as a stylist, as there are so many common threads between the two (especially working with brides and engaged couples). 

I've wanted to keep this site specific to my styling endeavors, but secretly, I've been taking on day-of coordination clients here and there since, well, before I quit my job in events. 

So, it's with great pleasure and trepidation that I tell you that I'm adding Day-Of Coordination to my list of services!

Don't worry, I'm not putting styling on the back burner! Above all else, I am a stylist first. I am simply choosing to no longer ignore a big part of what my clients want and need. Wedding styling is so much fun and day-of coordination isn't that far off - it still requires me to rely heavily on my stylistic eye.

weds-day: we're married

What they say is true: it is the best day of your life.

What they don't tell you: you not only grow closer to your spouse, but to all of your family and friends as well. Every bond is reinforced. It's a magical day.

We're in Italy on our Honeymoon (thank you Michelle and Roderick of Azurine!) , and I'm typing up some recaps during some downtime before dinner. Hope to get those up later this week.

weds-day: signing off

Hi friends! Oh do I wish I had it in me to talk about ANYTHING else except my wedding this weekend. Alas, I do not. I'm heading up to CT today following a wedding manicure with my sister. Any color recs? I'm thinking anything but nude, since I feel like that's the obvious bridal choice (and you all know I don't like to do anything that's obvious). I don't think I'll be posting for the rest of the week, however, please follow along on Instagram to see snaps of it all!

Monday we fly out for our Honeymoon in Italy and Switzerland. If the itinerary is any clue, we are going to have the time of our lives. I may try and get on the blog to share updates and pictures...but if I don't, I will see you back here for a wedding-free (mostly, I think we'll keep weds-day around for a while) blog in late November!

weds-day: what to wear before and after

When I picture my wedding, I think about allllll the wonderful outfits I get to wear - not just the dress. As soon as we began planning, my mind was instantly brainstorming what I would wear to the rehearsal dinner, getting ready, and to the next day's brunch. Leave it to me to make things extra complicated, but it really jazzes me up. As you may or may not know, there is a huge sale going on at Shopbop right now (use code BIGEVENT15 for 15% off 250+). In an effort to show you my favorite picks from their current inventory, the mood boards below consist of their pieces only (there's no incentive for me to do this, I just love sales and I love weds-day).

Here's what I'm thinking:

I've been dreaming about layering in some lamé for the wedding. I love the subtle sexiness of this dress, and I appreciate the pop of color and metal mixing that the shoe adds. A low chignon with some statement earrings rounds out this look for me.

Ever since Juicy Couture's sweatsuits, I've always wanted a monogrammed sweatsuit for my wedding. I still kind of want one, even though I know I will be judged for it. Above is a modern alternative - cheeky sweatshirt, uber comfy sweats, pedicure friendly sandals, and a coveted make up bag (do any of you own a bag by Anya Hindmarch? I've heard wonderful things). The only thing missing from this mood board is a hefty dose of Klonipan...

Post-wedding brunch will likely be a nod to my favorite outfit - Rag and Bone black denim, Alexander Wang tee, and sneaks. Hmm, maybe I'll spring for some Yeezy Boosts.
