10 summer accessories under $100

Apparently it was "National Splurge Day" on Friday. It seems like everyday is some sort of national "holiday." America, this is getting a little ridiculous. But, then again, you know I love contributing to a booming economy in any way that I can. Today, instead of splurging, let's check out how we can spend without breaking the bank. If you're in the market for any new accessories, let this be your summer guide:

style stories 1

Friends, I apologize for being MIA this week. Between day job and fun, I was burning the candle at both ends, and I am exhausted, uninspired, and a little burnt out. Which means it's the perfect time to launch my new video series: STYLE STORIES! Our first guest is one of my best friends, Courtney Romano. Please check out the video below and let me know what you think!

ps - if you would like to be interviewed for Style Stories, email me at allie@littleredswell.com.

K.I.S.S.

And a very good morning to you! Hope your weekend was lovely - ours definitely was. I had my bridal hair trial which turned out perfect, spent QT with all 3 of my nephews, then capped off the weekend by hanging with our good friends Kevin and Cara at the Warwick Valley Winery (which I highly recommend). When we got home last night, we spent a good couple of hours in front of Netflix's new season of Orange is the New Black, and now here we are! Sometimes my sense of style needs a little palate cleanser - perhaps I've spent the weekend trying too hard, or I just feel like I need a little refresh. Yesterday, that was definitely the case. As we were getting dressed for the winery, I must have put together 10 different outfits, all of which I vetoed. I just wasn't feeling like myself. So, I headed to the back of my closet and ended up wearing a bunch of pieces I've had for years, and I felt great.

Now, I can't quite come to your houses and rifle through your things to find a palate cleansing outfit (actually, I can, just email me) right now, so I thought I'd show you an outfit that is giving me life and inspiration this morning:

// the perfect white tee // long necklace // the comfiest pants // statement makers //

When you have a piece that is the outfit, let the rest of what you wear be easy and simple. These shoes are everything - we could pair them with a funky dress, an all denim outfit, a jumpsuit, hot pants, you name it, there are a million ways to go. But! Nothing is as easy on the eyes to me as keeping the outfit so simple. UGH! You are so COOL! By the way, here's a less expensive shoe option, and another cute necklace option...JIC.

chic shoes on the cheap

Say that 10 times fast! On the real, though, as much as I love investing in special pieces that I'll have for a lifetime and eventually pass down to my progeny, sometimes you just need a piece for right now. Summer is tricky; it's hot one day, it's rainy the next, we walk constantly and need support, we have a day to night situation, you know what I mean. Some of my summer shoes are investment types, but many many are a step or two down from that - somewhere just above fast fashion. Here are some shoes I'm loving for all my fellow bargain hunters out there:

// for work // for date night // for brunch // for all the time // for fun one// for fun two //

ASOS is truly a one stop shop when you're on a budget, but even so, I'd gladly put all of these shoes into the rotation regardless of price. Any shoe finds you'd like to share?

what to wear to the office: the actress

6_8_15_office_wear_actress

// shirt // pants // shoes // sunglasses // nails //

Why is it that blogs only mention work wear as it applies to those 9-5ers? Incidentally, in my circle of friends I have only a handful of 9-5ers, and none of them work in an environment where they have a strict corporate dress code. There are oh so many jobs / careers / activities that pay the bills, it's only fair that we consider outfits for all of them. Today let's talk about the actress. Here in NYC, she's probably running to and from auditions in midtown, maybe she has a leotard underneath her clothes. I imagine her in uber comfy yet stylish slacks, a button down (easy on, easy off), and of course, flats.

If you're an actress, what's your go-to outfit?
