wedding wednesday, part 1
Morning, friends! There's only one more sleep till Christmas! I am so excited to celebrate - Raven and Charlie get in in a few hours and there's going to be lots of holiday cheer happening in the next few days. I had a great night's sleep and feel so much better today, so I thought I would kick off a new series - Wedding Wednesday! I am totally open to names, here, for this series, but for posterity, let's call it what it is for now. Even though Raven and I have only been engaged for a week, we've been brainstorming ideas for our wedding since we designed my ring. I'm excited to say we have a date, a venue and more importantly (to me), a wedding planner! I've been a fan of Melissa McNeeley's work for years, and I was thrilled when she said she'd work with us for our big day. Two seconds into my first phone call with her, she completely understood our vision. Raven and I love the outdoors and the fall and winter seasons, so a cozy November wedding by a lake in Connecticut is perfect for us. I've put together a moodboard from my Pinterest page so you can get an idea of what we're thinking:
Yup, you guessed it! Lots of plaid, lots of dark, moody colors, and we are trying our hardest to make the inside look like the Connecticut woods. Oh, and we are thrilled and HONORED to be having Ashley Caroline Photography photograph our wedding (basically, we planned our date around her availability)! Needless to say we are so excited to start this planning process. What do you guys think??

and all that plaid
Two Saturdays ago, during the uber inspirational Monarch Workshop, my friend crush Victoria and I snuck away during a break and had a super mini photoshoot. You know when you just vibe with someone? The instant I heard the click of her shutter, I was all "Mmm hmm! This feels right." Mini though it was, we had a blast. Check it out...
plaid shirt as jacket // jeans // tee // shoes, similar here // bracelet
You know that phrase, "the clothes make the man"? Well, I think the accessories make the outfit. And I know I say this all the time, but I'm just wearing black jeans and a black tee! Could be boring, but it's not, thanks to my ridiculous sequined plaid jacket.
What's your favorite accessory that makes every outfit better?

i been thinkin'...
I had planned all week to write a serious, introspective post for you all. But friends, it's Friday! And we ain't goin' out like that. Especially because today all SORTS of interwebs goodness smacked me straight across my freckled mug.
Stuff like this:
I always stop to look at photos of Jessica Biel for two reasons:
1. She stole my husband (I can't talk about it).
2. Her hair! On another level these past couple years.
The third reason I had to take another look at this picture is that plaid dress. Actually, I'm down with her whole outfit (talk about add ons!). And since we're not all millionaires like Mrs. Timberlake, you'll be happy to know that this dress is transitional. Today (in the frigid climes) I'd wear it with booties, black tights, and this coat:
This summer, when it's 90, I'll wear it with espadrilles and my hair like this:
You get the idea.
By the way, I saw this picture on one of my favorite websites ever, Who What Wear. Check it out.
Yes, here at LRW we are coming around to the idea of warmer weather.
Do tell, are you looking forward to spring and summer?

when irish eyes are smiling
In two weeks, I will be here...
That's right, I'm going to IRELAND! My mom and I are headed overseas to the land of our ancestors and we're seeing everything. We fly in and out of Dublin, and then are spending a week on a guided tour of the country, stopping in Killarney, Kilkenny, and Galway (and many other sights along the way). I'm really excited to spend some QT with my Mama, as well as learn more about my heritage. Both my Mom and my Dad's sides of the family are Irish, and I'm just about as sentimental as you can get; needless to say I'm more than thrilled (and a little crazy eyes emotional) about the prospect of finding out about where I come from.
Getting organized for a trip simply delights me- mini toiletry bottles, chic airport outfits, yummy plane snacks. I'm not a great flier, so this focuses my attention elsewhere (rather than on the fact that I'm sitting in a chair in the sky).
Here's what I'm planning to bring with me to the green, lush, rainy, lovely land of the leprechauns:
